Community Event: Meet and Greet with The Earth Gym Location: Saltwater State Park Date: Sunday, May 19, 2024 Time: 11AM-2PM Come join The Earth Gym, Ways and Waters, Washington National Parks Fund, REI, and Washington State Parks for a morning outdoors. Speak to representatives of local companies and organizations who are ready to connect BIPOC community members with resources and support to get outdoors. Especially if you are a BIPOC parent, educator, or organization leader, please come out to meet all the folks who are excited to uplift our community. You will also be invited to learn about canoe highways used by Muckleshoot peoples and the many Coast Salish tribes local to this area. Hear from our Sister from Hawaii about their traditional canoe. Sign-up to paddle in a canoe and experience a piece of Indigenous history that has shaped our region. You are welcome to pack a picnic and spend the day at the park enjoying the park trails and the beach. Public restrooms are available. *This is a free event, but you must register to receive details via email before the event.
